DoD Revises Credentialing
- The U.S. Department of Defense revised its media credentialing policy after a federal judge ruled the prior rules violated the First and Fifth Amendments, in a case brought by The New York Times.
- The judge found the policy aimed to exclude certain journalists and granted officials excessive discretion over press access.
- The DoD will appeal and keep some restrictions, including escorting journalists inside the building.
