Global Constellation Launches International Sales for "Heaven's Gate"

Global Constellation has announced its involvement in the international sales of the five-episode limited series "Heaven’s Gate," which is being presented to global buyers for the first time at Series Mania. The series is set across two timelines: 1942 and the mid-1990s. It follows Saskia, a woman who travels to Indonesia with her teenage daughter, Alex, after inheriting a long-abandoned plantation named Heaven’s Gate. What begins as a practical decision transforms into a haunting exploration of her family's colonial past. As Saskia becomes increasingly consumed by visions of Anisa, a Javanese woman involved in a love triangle with plantation owner Jan Stokman and his wife, Marie, Alex grows concerned for her mother's mental state.

"Heaven’s Gate" marks the first official television co-production between the Netherlands and Malaysia. Directed by Jim Taihuttu and Lisette Donkersloot, the series features a writing team that includes Taihuttu, Randy Oost, Amira Duynhouwer, and Victor D. Ponten. The cast comprises Denise Aznam, Anneke Sluiters, Gijs Naber, Bront Palarae, and Abimana Aryasatya. Production is currently underway in Malaysia, with an expected delivery date in early 2027. The series is produced by New Amsterdam Film Company, co-produced by Kinovisuals, and commissioned by Netherlands Public Broadcasters NPO and NTR.
