Investigation Launched Following Detention of CNN Crew in West Bank

The IDF confirmed that the crew's detention lasted approximately two hours, during which one photographer was injured, and their equipment was damaged.

According to reports, the confrontation escalated when an IDF soldier, identified as Meir, placed CNN photojournalist Cyril Theophilos in a chokehold, causing him to fall and damaging his camera. During the detention, the soldiers expressed their views on Israeli sovereignty in the West Bank, asserting that the entire region belongs to Israel and the Jewish people. One soldier justified their actions by referencing a recent killing of a settler, implying that their response was driven by a desire for revenge.

Avi Bluth to present the main findings and command recommendations as soon as possible.
