Monolord Prepares for Release of New Album "Neverending"

Swedish doom/stoner band Monolord is set to release their new album, *Neverending*, on May 29, 2026, through Relapse Records. This marks their first full-length album in five years, following their previous work, *Your Time To Shine* (2021). The recording took place in Ashland, Oregon, under the guidance of renowned producer Sylvia Massy, known for her work with artists like Tool and Johnny Cash. The band, consisting of guitarist/vocalist Thomas Jäger, drummer Esben Willems, and bassist Mika Häkki, rehearsed 12 songs, recorded 11, and ultimately selected eight tracks for the album.

The collaboration with Sylvia Massy was initiated when she requested Jäger to send over all of the band's written material, not just the songs intended for the album. Jäger noted, “She asked me to send her everything we had—not just songs written for the album, but every stray riff and idea.” This approach allowed Massy to curate the material, leading to a focused yet expansive sound that diverges from traditional doom metal.

In conjunction with the album release, Monolord has announced an extensive tour schedule for 2026, which includes both U.S. and European dates. The U.S. leg will kick off on June 11 in San Diego, California, and will feature Mizmor as the opening act for the Western dates. The tour will continue through various cities, concluding with a series of performances in Europe starting in October.
