City Year Los Angeles Honors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller at Spring Break Gala

City Year Los Angeles is set to honor filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, alongside education leader Pedro Noguera, at its 15th annual Spring Break Gala on April 25, 2026, at Universal Studios. The event will recognize Lord and Miller for their significant contributions to storytelling and their influence on younger audiences through popular franchises such as “Spider-Verse” and “The Lego Movie,” as well as their latest film, “Project Hail Mary.” Actor Jake Johnson will present the awards to the filmmakers, while Juju Green, known as Straw Hat Goofy, will host the gala for the second consecutive year. Noguera, the dean of the USC Rossier School of Education, will deliver the keynote address, complemented by a musical performance from Allen Stone.
