Major Restoration Reveals Hidden Structures of Rome's Colosseum

The Colosseum in Rome, Italy's most iconic landmark, has recently undergone a significant restoration that has unveiled parts of its original structure that had been concealed for centuries. The project, which culminated in an inauguration on March 17, 2026, involved the installation of new travertine marble blocks around the arena, marking the locations of grand entrance columns that once stood there.
