CBP Launches Refund System
- The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will launch the CAPE system on April 20, 2026 to process tariff refunds for entries liquidated in the last 80 days.
- Importers should create ACE accounts to better manage refund requests as CAPE rolls out.
- Refund processing will take about 60-90 days, potentially longer if compliance issues arise.
- Importers have 180 days to challenge CBP's duty calculations.
- Protests may be needed for older liquidations.
