Tornado Watches Issued Across Six States Amid Severe Storm Threat

On Tuesday afternoon, millions of Americans in the Plains and Midwest were placed under a tornado watch as the National Weather Service (NWS) issued alerts for six states. This watch was prompted by a powerful storm system sweeping across the Midwest and Great Lakes, significantly increasing the risk of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail. The affected states include northern Texas, central Oklahoma, southern Kansas, eastern Iowa, northern Illinois, and southern Wisconsin. AccuWeather senior meteorologist Tyler Roys highlighted that the area facing the highest tornado risk stretched from Des Moines to Milwaukee and Chicago.
