Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico has announced a remarkable first-quarter fundraising total of over $27 million, marking the largest sum ever raised by a Senate candidate in any state during the first quarter of an election year. Talarico, a state representative and Presbyterian seminarian, secured the Democratic nomination in March, defeating U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett. His campaign reported raising $10 million since the March 3 primary, positioning him as a formidable contender in a state that has not elected a Democrat to statewide office in three decades.
