Sequel to Acclaimed Film "Quo Vadis, Aida?" Begins Production

"Quo Vadis, Aida? – The Missing Part," the sequel to Jasmila Žbanic’s Oscar and BAFTA-nominated film, has commenced production in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Paris-based Indie Sales is managing international sales for the project, which is set to be presented at the Cannes Market. The film is expected to be completed by Spring 2027 and continues the narrative from the original film, focusing on the aftermath of the fall of Srebrenica in 1995.

The sequel follows Aida, portrayed by Jasna Duricic, as she embarks on a desperate search for her sons, who were taken by Serbian forces. The story unfolds in a refugee center filled with displaced women, highlighting their collective struggle and realization that they must take action to confront the injustices of a political system that has failed them. This theme of sorority and the pursuit of justice is emphasized by Nicolas Eschbach, CEO of Indie Sales, who describes the film as "an intimate yet globally resonant story, a film more than ever necessary."
