According to police reports, Guzman approached a female shopper and Cyler, brandishing the stolen knife. She instructed the shopper to walk in front of her while she held the child at knifepoint. After exiting the store, Guzman began to threaten the child, leading to a confrontation with responding officers. Despite multiple commands to drop the weapon, Guzman slashed Cyler's face before officers fired at her, resulting in her death at the scene.

Child's Condition and Recovery

Cyler Hillman was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent surgery for a significant laceration on the left side of his face and on one of his hands.
