CBS Announces Dates for Upcoming Awards Shows

CBS has revealed its programming slate for the upcoming television season, including the dates for two significant awards shows: the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) and the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. The VMAs will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, and will be simulcast live on both CBS and MTV. This marks the second consecutive year that the VMAs will be broadcast in this manner and the first time since 2017 that the event will be held in the Los Angeles area. The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards will also be simulcast live on CBS and Nickelodeon for the first time on Saturday, November 14, 2026. This 90-minute event will celebrate young fans' favorites across various categories, including film, television, music, and sports. The show will air from 8 to 9:30 p.m. ET/PT and will be produced by Done and Dusted. Notably, the November date is several months later than the traditional schedule, as the previous year's event took place on June 21, 2025, hosted by Tyla at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.

The Kids’ Choice Awards, which originated in 1993, has predominantly been held in the Los Angeles area, with only three exceptions. The awards were hosted in New York City in 1987 and 1996, and in Orlando, Florida, in 1994.
