Lewis Moody Leads Fundraising Cycle Challenge for MND Awareness

Former England rugby captain Lewis Moody has announced a 500-mile cycling challenge to raise funds for motor neurone disease (MND) research, continuing the legacy of the late Doddie Weir. The event, named the Lewis XV’s challenge, will take place over seven days, starting on June 14, 2026, from Newcastle and concluding at Twickenham on June 20, where Moody will present the match ball for the Premiership final. Moody, who was diagnosed with MND in October 2022, aims to raise awareness and funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, which has already raised over £23.5 million for MND research.

Moody will be joined by several of his fellow 2003 Rugby World Cup winners, including Jonny Wilkinson, Mike Tindall, and Ben Kay, as well as his teenage sons.
