Dangote Launches Refinery
- Aliko Dangote pledged to lead a 650,000-bpd refinery in Tanga, Tanzania, on April 23, 2026, with President William Ruto and President Yoweri Museveni endorsing it.
- The plant will process crude from the DRC, Kenya, South Sudan and Uganda, get feedstock via a Mombasa-to-Tanga pipeline, and target a build.
- The refinery is part of Dangote Group’s $40 billion plan that will raise Lagos capacity to 1.4 million bpd and cut Africa’s reliance on Middle-East imports.
