Meta Deploys Graviton5
- Meta signed an agreement with Amazon Web Services to deploy tens of millions of Graviton5 processor cores for its AI workloads.
- The Graviton5 chips contain 192 cores, a cache five times larger than the prior generation, and 3-nanometre technology that reduces communication delays by up to 33 percent.
- The deployed cores will handle CPU-intensive agentic AI tasks such as code generation, real-time reasoning, search queries and complex workflow coordination.
- Santosh Janardhan, Meta’s Head of Infrastructure, said diversifying compute sources is a strategic priority as the company scales its AI ambitions.
- Nafea Bshara, vice president and distinguished engineer at Amazon, said the chips give customers the infrastructure foundation to build AI that scales efficiently to billions of people worldwide.
