Democrats Lead on Economy

Since 2010, ten Fox News economy polls have shown a Republican advantage, peaking at 15 points in early 2022 and February 2023. The 2024 Democratic lead reverses that long-standing trend. The previous Democratic edge on the economy was recorded in May 2010, shortly after the 2008 financial crisis.

The poll combined telephone and online interviews, with a ±3-point margin of error. Beyond the 52-48 economic split, 56 % rated the Trump administration’s overall management as poor and 58 % disapproved of Trump’s job performance. Inflation, prices and affordability were named the top national issue by 26 % of respondents; 17 % cited the economy and jobs. Data were collected from April 17 to April 20, 2024.
