EU Approves Aid
- EU Council approved a €90 billion loan for Ukraine and its 20th sanctions package against Russia on 23 April 2026 after Hungary and Slovakia lifted their veto.
- The loan will be paid in two €45 billion installments in 2026 and 2027, covering about two-thirds of Kyiv’s financing gap.
- Sanctions ban maritime Russian oil transport, blacklist 46 tankers, target 20 banks and 58 military-industrial firms, and from January 2027 prohibit LNG and cybersecurity services to Russia.
