On 7 February 2003 a car bomb with about 200 kg of explosives detonated in Bogotá’s El Nogal Club, killing 36 and injuring over 200; Colombian officials blamed the guerrilla group FARC and the UN adopted Resolution 1465 condemning the attack. The bombing marked the deadliest urban terror act in Colombia for more than a decade, foreshadowing later attacks such as the 2003 Zona Rosa grenade assault.
