India Secures FTA
- India and New Zealand signed a free-trade agreement in New Delhi on 27 April 2026.
- The pact grants Indian goods 100 % duty-free entry into New Zealand, cuts tariffs on 95 % of New Zealand exports such as wine, sheep meat and honey, and includes a US $20 billion investment commitment and 6,000 visas for Indians.
- Bilateral merchandise trade was US $1.3 billion in 2024-25, total trade US $2.4 billion, while the agreement awaits parliamentary ratification despite NZ First opposition.
