The resolution ordered Israel’s pull-back, deployment of about 15,000 UNIFIL peacekeepers and disarmament of armed groups south of the Litani. Decades later, Israeli troops remain within 10 km of the border and Hezbollah’s arsenal has grown, keeping the ceasefire fragile.
