In the play she portrays Philippa, who discovers a homeless man, Duncan (played by former *Coronation Street* actor Daniel Brocklebank), sleeping rough. The plot centres on a scheme to secure a multi-million-pound inheritance that requires Duncan’s husband to be alive. Brocklebank, who left *Coronation Street* after an eleven-year run as vicar Billy Mayhew, shares the stage with Brookes for the first time.
