Lilly Acquires Ajax
- Eli Lilly announced on April 27 2026 it will acquire Ajax Therapeutics for up to $2.3 billion in cash.
- The purchase adds AJ1-11095, a Phase 1 oral JAK2 inhibitor for myelofibrosis and polycythemia vera with a binding mechanism, which analyst Louise Chen said makes the deal strategically sound for broadening Lilly’s oncology portfolio beyond obesity drugs.
- Jacob Van Naarden said Lilly will use its blood-cancer expertise to deliver the new drug to patients and hematologists.
