EU Subsidises Fuel
- Ursula von der Leyen said Europe has spent €27 billion on oil and gas imports since Iran’s war, calling it the continent’s second energy shock in four years after Russia’s 2022 gas cut.
- The Commission will subsidise up to 70 percent of fuel costs for farmers, fishers and hauliers.
- Morocco’s OCP raised $1.5 billion (€1.28 billion) via a hybrid bond to expand fertilizer exports to Europe.
