US Approves Arms
- United States approved $8.6 billion in emergency arms transfers, bypassing Congress.
- Allocations total $992 million Advanced Precision Kill Weapon Systems for Israel, $2.5 billion systems for Kuwait, nearly $5 billion of Patriot batteries and APKWS for Qatar, and $148 million of APKWS for the United Arab Emirates.
- Secretary of State Marco Rubio said emergency justified fast-tracking sales, which follow a March approval of $16.5 billion in arms sales to the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Jordan.
