Greta Gerwig's Narnia Adaptation Rescheduled for 2027

Netflix announced that *Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew* will open in cinemas on 12 February 2027, with a streaming debut on 2 April 2027. The film will launch in IMAX and will have the longest theatrical window for any Netflix feature, replacing an earlier plan for a Thanksgiving theatrical opening and a Christmas-Day streaming release.

Lewis’s fantasy world for her next film. *The Magician’s Nephew* adapts the 1955 novel that, while the sixth published in the Chronicles of Narnia, serves as the chronological origin story. The series previously received three film adaptations in 2005, 2008 and 2010.

The film is produced by Mark Gordon, Amy Pascal, Vincent Sieber-Smith and Gerwig, with executive producers Patricia Whitcher, Douglas Gresham and Melvin Adams for the C.S. Lewis Estate, and co-produced by Christine Crais. Newcomers David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell lead, joined by Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Daniel Craig and Meryl Streep (voice of Aslan).
