Tracker Relocates to Los Angeles with Record $48M Tax Credit

CBS’s drama *Tracker* will move production from Vancouver to Los Angeles for season 4, with filming set for late June 2026. The shift follows a $48 million tax credit from the California Film Commission, the largest single-series credit in the state’s $750 million program.

In March 2026 the California Film Commission unveiled tax credits for 16 series and pilots. The program offers a 35 % base credit, with an extra 5 % bonus for expenditures outside the Los Angeles 30-mile zone.

The $48 million credit exceeds Amazon’s *Fallout* ($42 million) and 20th Television’s *The Land* ($42.8 million). *Tracker* ranked No. 7 across broadcast and streaming series in 2025-26 and was the top-watched broadcast drama for its first 2½ seasons. California spending will earn the extra 5 % out-of-zone bonus.

The credit aims to boost Los Angeles’ economy by creating crew jobs and supporting local businesses hit by runaway production. Creatively, the move adds coastal, mountain and desert locales to the series. The incentive is projected to generate millions of dollars in local spending and sustain dozens of permanent jobs.
