Tina Charles Retires After Two Decades of Professional Basketball

In late March, Charles completed a best-of-five series with the Chinese club Henan Phoenix in central China. After averaging 22 points and eight rebounds over the four-game series, she announced that the match would be her final professional appearance, confirming her retirement from basketball competition.

Charles entered the WNBA as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 draft after leading UConn to undefeated NCAA titles in 2009 and 2010. She began with the Connecticut Sun, later played for the New York Liberty and Washington Mystics, and returned to the Sun before her final season.
