Iron Jane: Female Bodybuilding Drama Enters Production

“Iron Jane” is an upcoming feature film that follows Janie John, a woman raised in neglect who discovers a path to power through competitive female bodybuilding. Written and directed by Lissette Feliciano, the story depicts Janie’s extreme physical transformation, her reliance on performance enhancers, and the psychological cost of a system that rewards perfection. The film frames bodybuilding as both empowerment and self-destruction.

Eiza González, known for “Baby Driver” and “3 Body Problem,” stars as Janie John, while Brandon Sklenar, seen in “The Housemaid” and “F.A.S.T.,” plays her coach and also produces through Vista Lane Pictures. The production is led by Sugar Rush Pictures (Andrea Bucko), Neon Kite, Gramercy Park, and Highland Film Group, with Atlas Entertainment’s Cassian Elwes as executive producer. Lissette Feliciano also directs and co-produces via Look at the Moon Pictures.

Highland Film Group, Sugar Rush Pictures, and Gramercy Park co-finance the film, while Atlas Entertainment provides executive oversight. International sales are handled by Highland Film Group, which will present the project at the Cannes Marché du Film. In the United States, CAA Media Finance and WME Independent have secured rights. Representation includes CAA, Linden Entertainment, The Lede Company and Jackoway Austen Tyerman for González; WME and boutique agencies for Sklenar; and Paradigm Talent Agency, Neon Kite, Yorn Levine, Adelman Matz and 42West for Feliciano.
