Trump Tariffs Blocked
- U.S. Court of International Trade in New York ruled Thursday that President Donald Trump’s 10% global tariffs are illegal.
- The three-judge panel voted 2-1, finding Trump exceeded Congress-granted tariff authority under the 1974 Trade Act.
- The ruling blocks the tariffs for Washington state, Burlap & Barrel and Basic Fun! and stops 10% tariffs after their July 24 expiration.
- The administration intends to appeal to Federal Circuit and possibly the Supreme Court.
