“Wild Bird”: A Short Film Reimagining Alexander McQueen and Isabella Blow’s Turbulent Bond

‘Wild Bird’ dramatizes the mentorship and later rupture between fashion designer Alexander McQueen and fashion editor Isabella Blow. Blow discovered McQueen in the early 1990s, served as his mentor and muse. Their bond frayed after McQueen’s appointment at Givenchy, when he could not secure a role for Blow. Blow’s 2007 suicide led McQueen to dedicate his next show to her. The short film imagines a road-trip where Blow (Colman) guides McQueen (Tovey) toward emotional redemption.
