On Sunday at 4 p.m., an explosive first-person-view (FPV) drone launched from Lebanon struck the tank carrier of IDF reservist Warrant Officer (res.) Alexander Glovanyov, 47, of Petah Tikva, near the Manara area on the Israeli side of the border. The fiber-optic-guided drone killed Glovanyov and wounded three other reservists. He served as a driver in the 6924th Transport Battalion of the Technological and Logistics Corps.

Since March 2026 Hezbollah has fielded civilian quadcopters converted into FPV explosive drones, many guided by a thin fiber-optic cable that defeats electronic jamming.
