The Hampden Park bowling club, occupying the ground since 1905, closed in early 2026 because of financial difficulties.
Land Property Glasgow, which received the land after the closure, now holds the site under scheduled-monument protection from Historic Environment Scotland.
Campaigners said the listing safeguards the area from the commercial development that had been feared.
