Quiver Distribution Secures North American Rights to “Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day”

Quiver Distribution secured North American rights to “Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day,” a comedy adaptation of Woolf’s early novel set in early-20th-century London. The film will open theatrically in the United States this fall. WestEnd and WME Independent co-represent domestic rights; WestEnd handles international sales.

Haley Bennett plays aspiring astronomer Katharine Hilbery, Lily Allen is suffragette Mary, Jack Whitehall portrays William, Timothy Spall is Katharine’s father, and Jennifer Saunders appears. Directed by BAFTA-nominated Tina Gharavi from a Justine Waddell screenplay, the crew includes cinematographer Sebastian Edschmid, editors Hansjörg Weißbrich and Ben Wilson, and production designer David Hindle.

Screenwriter Waddell said the adaptation asks Woolf’s questions of purpose, identity and love.
