Death Becomes Her to Close After 20-Month Broadway Run, Eyes Nationwide Tour

The musical *Death Becomes Her* will close at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on June 28, 2026 after a 20-month run that included more than 650 regular performances and 27 previews.

Adapted from the 1992 Robert Zemeckis film, the show opened on November 21, 2024 with direction and choreography by Christopher Gattelli, a book by Marco Pennette, and a score by Julia Mattison and Noel Carey. Original leads Megan Hilty and Jennifer Simard, both Tony-nominated, were succeeded by Betsy Wolfe (Madeline) and Simard (Helen) alongside Christopher Sieber, Grammy-winner Michelle Williams, Taurean Everett and Josh Lamon. Universal Theatrical Group produced the musical, with Lowe Cunningham serving as senior vice president of creative and strategy.

The tour begins September 12, 2026 at Cleveland’s Playhouse Square and will travel to St. Louis, Nashville, Atlanta, Orlando, Boston, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, with extended stops in San Francisco and Costa Mesa before concluding its first year in Sacramento in September 2027. International productions are planned.
