Yokoso Scooby-Doo! Launches as the First Anime Series in the Scooby-Doo Franchise

In 2026, Tubi announced exclusive North American rights to “Yokoso Scooby-Doo!” – the franchise’s first original anime series. The series will stream on Tubi in the United States and on Cartoon Network internationally. Set in Japan, it follows Scooby and Shaggy on a “foodie adventure” that unleashes hundreds of mythical monsters. Frank Welker and Matthew Lillard reprise Scooby and Shaggy.

The series is produced by Warner Bros. Animation with production services from Japan’s OLM, the studio behind Pokémon, Yo-kai Watch and Beyblade Burst. Itsuro Kawasaki directs, while Francisco Paredes serves as co-producer. Sam Register, president of Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, oversees the project. OLM’s involvement brings seasoned anime expertise to the franchise.

Scooby-Doo first aired in 1969; Frank Welker voiced Fred then and has voiced Scooby since 2002, giving him over two decades in the role. Matthew Lillard originated Shaggy in the live-action movies and later voiced the character across multiple animated series. The franchise previously visited Japan in the 2009 film “Scooby-Doo! and the Samurai Sword,” but “Yokoso Scooby-Doo!” is the franchise’s first anime.

Tubi chief content officer Adam Lewinson said the series reinvents the beloved franchise, connecting global fandoms through a bold anime setting and delivering “fun, chaotic mystery” for multiple generations. Warner Bros. Animation president Sam Register described the partnership with OLM as a chance to push Scooby-Doo forward, unmask new mysteries, signature hijinks and plenty of Scooby Snacks using dynamic anime artistry.
