NCAA Approves Championship
- NCAA Committee on Access, Opportunity and Impact voted to recommend a women’s flag football national championship for Divisions I-III.
- It requires at least 40 varsity schools, with more than 100 pledged for 2024-25.
- Proposals due July 1 trigger a formal vote at the January 2027 NCAA Convention and could lead to a spring 2028 championship before the sport’s 2028 Los Angeles Olympic debut, after a 283% rise in girls’ participation.
