After the Canadian Women’s Hockey League introduced the Clarkson Cup in 2009, the Montreal Stars defeated the Minnesota Whitecaps 3-1 to claim the first title. The Whitecaps, WWHL champions for three straight seasons (2008-11), captured the Cup in 2010, becoming the first U.S. team to win it.
