Parlotti’s fatal crash at the 1972 Isle of Man TT spurred Giacomo Agostini and eleven leading riders to boycott the race, pressuring the FIM to review circuit safety. The 1970 TT had already recorded six rider deaths, the deadliest year on the 37-mile Mountain Course. Continued safety concerns led the FIM to drop the TT from the World Championship after the 1976 season.
