mk2 alt Secures European Distribution for Internet-Native Film “Two Sleepy People”

French distributor mk2 alt secured European theatrical rights to the 90-minute U.S. romantic dramedy “Two Sleepy People.” Made on a $100,000 budget, the story follows two coworkers who take melatonin gummies and become trapped in a dream. mk2 alt will open the film in France with a visa before expanding across Europe.

Baron Ryan wrote, directed and co-starred with comedian-creator Caroline Grossman, who also co-wrote. The $100,000 budget was raised from personal savings and sponsors. Creator Camp, founded in 2021, now supports over 300 creators and has amassed more than three billion views across its projects.

mk2 alt launched in April 2024 to bring alternative content to cinemas. Its breakout “Kaïzen” sold 350,000 tickets across 1,000 screenings in a single day. In February 2026 it released “Iron Lung,” a $50 million global box-office hit starring Markiplier. These results support mk2 alt’s mission to keep theaters relevant for younger audiences.
