MLBPA Proposes CBA
- MLBPA filed its opening collective bargaining agreement (CBA) proposal on May 27, 2026.
- The proposal lifts the minimum salary to $1.5 million in 2027, guarantees $240 million payroll to small-market clubs, taxes teams with payroll under $150 million, raises the luxury-tax threshold to $300 million, and drops draft-pick penalties.
- MLB spokesman Glen Caplin warned the plan would cut revenue to low-revenue clubs, weaken the tax, and give the Dodgers $70 million extra payroll space.
