IBM Launches Lightwell
- IBM announced Project Lightwell, a $5 billion AI initiative to secure open-source software for Fortune 500 firms.
- IBM CEO Arvind Krishna said Anthropic’s Mythos tool triggered the investment and that major banks including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America are early adopters.
- More than 20,000 IBM engineers are assigned full-time to identify and patch critical flaws in widely used libraries, AI frameworks, coding libraries and data-streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka.
