John Rambo Prequel Set for June 4, 2027 Release

Lionsgate announced the sixth Rambo film, a prequel titled John Rambo, will open on June 4, 2027. Set before 1982’s First Blood, it follows a young John Rambo played by Noah Centineo, directed by Jalmari Helander. Filming took place in Bangkok Jan-Mar 2026. The franchise began with First Blood (1982), grossing over $819 million; the 2019 entry left a six-year gap now closed by the prequel.
