Manfred Warns Lockout
- Commissioner Rob Manfred warned June 3, 2026 that 2027 labor talks could trigger lockout like 1994-95 strike, and noted owners propose a $245.3 million salary cap with a $171.2 million payroll floor.
- Manfred said Bruce Meyer says the cap would cut earnings by about $500 million, and that 30 clubs support plan and will share TV revenue.
- The dispute could affect participation in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and the 2029/2030 World Baseball Classic.
