India’s National Skill Development Mission, launched in 2009, aimed to train 150 million workers by 2022. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the World Economic Forum secured INR2 billion in 2015 for pilot projects in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. Minister Jayant Chaudhary now launches the India Skills Accelerator with IBM and Tata Consultancy Services to target AI, supply-chain resilience and the green economy.
