Europe Launches Tech Sovereignty Package

On 3 June 2026 the European Commission unveiled a package that creates four digital-sovereignty tiers for public procurement and focuses on cloud, AI, chips and open-source tools. Top tier would bar non-European firms from defence and healthcare contracts.
