NHS England Approves
- NHS England approved AbbVie’s mirvetuximab soravtansine (Elahere) for hard-to-treat ovarian, peritoneal and fallopian-tube cancers.
- NICE recommended the drug after a trial at eight NHS hospitals showed median overall survival of 16.5 months versus 12.8 months with standard chemotherapy.
- The study reported tumour shrinkage of at least 30% in 37% of patients, compared with 16% for chemotherapy.
- NHS England estimates the approval could benefit up to 400 patients per year.
