  • NHS England approved AbbVie’s mirvetuximab soravtansine (Elahere) for hard-to-treat ovarian, peritoneal and fallopian-tube cancers.
  • NICE recommended the drug after a trial at eight NHS hospitals showed median overall survival of 16.5 months versus 12.8 months with standard chemotherapy.
  • The study reported tumour shrinkage of at least 30% in 37% of patients, compared with 16% for chemotherapy.
  • NHS England estimates the approval could benefit up to 400 patients per year.
