WHO Launches Response
- WHO and Africa CDC launched a $518 million plan (June-Nov 2026) to contain the Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak in DRC and Uganda.
- The response targets coordination, surveillance, infection-prevention, clinical care, community engagement and “One Response” tracing.
- DRC has reported 344 cases and 60 deaths.
- Uganda has reported 15–16 cases and one death.
- Donors pledged $315.8 million, leaving a gap to $518 million goal and prompting WHO to use armored vehicles as insecurity blocks access.
