Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson’s two-hour documentary Earth, Wind & Fire: To Be Celestial vs. That’s the Weight of the World debuted at Tribeca on June 3, 2026 and aired on HBO/HBO Max on June 7. It combines archival footage, new interviews, and animation to trace the band’s six-decade history.

Maurice White founded Earth, Wind & Fire in 1969 after a Chicago jazz career and work with Ramsey Lewis.
