Lima Crowned World’s Best Food City in Time Out 2026 Ranking

Time Out’s 2026 “Best Food Cities” list names Lima, Peru, as the top food destination, citing its renowned seafood dishes such as ceviche and causa Limeña and its status as the most affordable city for dining among the 20 ranked locations. Bangkok, Thailand, repeats its No. 2 position, praised for an “unmatched street food culture.” Mexico City, London and Barcelona occupy the third-through-fifth spots, respectively.

Time Out surveyed 24,000 local residents in 150 cities worldwide, asking about restaurant quality, food affordability and overall food culture. Editors and food experts reviewed the responses, selecting the highest-ranked city in each country to compile a top-20 list. The results were released on June 8, 2026.
