Apple Launches Siri AI, Aiming for AI Catch-up

Apple has been criticized for lagging behind rivals in generative AI, with Siri seen as incremental and analysts urging a clear AI strategy to sustain iPhone upgrades and services growth.

At WWDC on June 8, Apple unveiled Siri AI for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS Golden Gate. The assistant can read screen content, use personal context, and act across native apps. A beta launches later this year, with a full release before the holiday season.
